As we are finishing up the final details at Isabel's, we wanted to take a moment to share some fun news! We are THRILLED to introduce our new Executive Chef, Michael Borraccio.
Most recently, Mike was the Head Chef at the Grove in Grand Rapids and last year, was awarded the Best New Chef by the West Michigan Food and Beverage Awards.
You could say that cooking is in Mike's DNA, as his family has owned Lino's in Rochester, Michigan for over 40 years. He grew up by his Grandmother's side in the kitchen and traveled extensively to Italy immersing himself in the culture and food scene.
Mike has a passion for sustainable cooking, and prior to the Grove, worked for Beyond Green, a food consulting company with a mission of delivering sustainable, local and organic food by focusing on local food sourcing and zero waste practices in the kitchen. We will work hard at Isabel's to bring those practices to our kitchen and to our guests.
Mike has spent the last few weeks working on the Isabel's menu and is excited to bring some fresh culinary options to our bakery, grill, take home meals and meal kits. (Did we mention he has a passion for fresh pasta?)
We will be updating you all very soon on the exact open date and when we do, we hope you will stop by to meet Mike in person and welcome him to the Saugatuck-Douglas-Fennville neighborhood! We can't wait to see you!
