Bartender

This is a customer-service focused role.  Mixes, and in a responsible manner, serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Serve bar guests in a courteous and timely manner.  Steps in to assist staff when and where necessary.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates must have good verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor. They must be self-motivated and must be able to stand for long periods of time. Candidate must be personable and guest service driven.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for mixing drinks, pouring beer, wine and spirits to guests while interacting verbally with them.
• Stock juices, alcohol, beer, wine and other products needed to properly and efficiently operate the bar location.
• Complete an opening and closing inventory sheet.
• Keep bar area including the taps, counters, glassware clean of debris.
• Present a guest check to patrons. Make correct change and/or complete any necessary charge card or gift card transactions.
• Performs other duties assigned.

 
Skills and Abilities

• Must have good customer service skills and the ability to develop an understanding of what Bartenders need for special events.
• Must be available for scheduled special events.
• Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Service Standards of proper grooming and appearance
• Ability to complete, or have completed, required pre-employment food and alcohol service training.
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and receive orders
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment

 
Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and remain stationary for entire length of shift
• Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions
• Ability to perform normal lifting of stock, up to 50 pounds
• May be exposed to variable temperatures, including extreme hot and cold, depending on season
• May be required to work in confined and/or narrow spaces

 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

Schedule

• Part-time.
• Weekend and evening hours required.
• Weekly schedule may vary.

 
Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous bartending experience preferred but not required
• TIPS certification required.

Compensation

• $9.00 – $12.00/hour (before tips), depending on experience.
